A two year old girl named Sumayya, was born with tuberose sclerosis and thus used to suffer with multiple petit mal seizures. She also had a slightly enlarged and heavy head leading to difficulty in being able to move or support her head.

From the day Sumayya was born on 22nd July 1997, not much hope was given by doctors of her life expectancy but even prior to her birth, doctors had suggested abortion as the chances of her being able to lead a normal life were non-existent. For religious reasons and having a glimmer of hope of a normal baby because of having lost a four year old due to meningitis a few years prior, the parents rejected the idea of abortion and Sumayya lived a fortnight after her second birthday.

She was fed through a naso-gastric tube and required a lot of attention from both parents. She was a happy baby in her own little world. Sadly her short life sadly ending on the 10th August 1999.

The father of Sumayya alongside a few people who shared a single vision decided to do as much as possible in making the world we live in a better place and this is how Lady Sumayya Charity was born in 2008 in Birmingham, UK.

Our Mission is to provide relief of financial hardship, the advancement of education and to assist relief and assistance of people in any part of the world who are victims of war or natural disaster, trouble, or catastrophe.
