Beverley Samways is the founder and director of Unique Connections, a non-profit organisation supporting individuals with learning disabilities who have experienced trauma and who have little or no spoken communication. With more than 25 years of professional and research experience, she is driven by a deep conviction that, regardless of how a person presents to the world, everyone is made for connection!.
She is passionate about challenging conventional assumptions about communication and encouraging a deeper appreciation for the many ways people connect. Her work brings together insights from neuroscience, trauma recovery, and psychodynamic thinking to develop new ways of understanding and supporting people whose communication is often overlooked.
Through her work, she shows how attuned, non-verbal interactions can build trust, restore safety, and open pathways to meaningful human connection.
